Is this the end of the Tareq and Michaele love story? Or just another darn publicity stunt?

Whatever it is, the Virginia horse-country characters, who caused a scandal with their uninvited appearance at a 2009 White House state dinner, seized our attention once again Wednesday when Tareq Salahi reported that his willowy blonde wife had been abducted.

In fact, Michaele Salahi had run away, it seems — into the open arms of a grizzled rock star.

Tareq, the polo-playing scion of the feuding Oasis Winery family, lit up the Internet early Wednesday when he told TMZ his wife of eight years had gone missing — and that he believed she’d been “kidnapped.”

Hours later, though, came a calmer statement from the Warren County (Va.) Sheriff’s department:

The time has come, America. Unless 55-year-old Kris Jenner finds a way to augment her outsize clan with yet another baby, it seems we have entered the last phase of Kardashian domination. Yesterday, Kris and husband Bruce Jenner’s youngest daughter, 14-year-old Kylie Jenner, made her modeling debut. She strutted at Avril Lavigne’s Abbey Dawn New York Fashion Week runway show. As with all things Kardashian, it was a family affair since Kylie’s older brother Brody Jenner dates Lavigne. Brody was in the crowd to support Kylie, as were older sisters Kendall, Kourtney, and Kim, plus Kim’s husband, NBA player Kris Humphries.

By wedging herself between Kendall’s ascension to music video fame, Kim’s wedding (followed by an October behind-the-scenes wedding special on Keeping Up with the Kardashians network E!), and Rob’s upcoming turn on Dancing With the Stars, is Kylie positioning herself as a force to be reckoned with? Or will she be lost in the shuffle? Is she the final frontier of KardashiaNation (which I’m pretty sure is what Kris would call the U.S. if she had her way)? Or is she simply bringing up the rear? Cher is taking to Twitter to defend her son Chaz Bono.

The superstar posted several tweets Wednesday defending his participation on the upcoming season of “Dancing With the Stars.” Bono is the first transgender competitor on the hit ABC show.

Cher says her son, who was born female and underwent surgery to become a man, is being “viciously attacked” on blogs and message boards since the new cast was announced Monday.

“This is Still America right? It took guts 2 do it,” Cher wrote, adding that she supports him no matter what he chooses to do.

“Mothers don’t stop Getting angry with stupid bigots who (mess) with their children!” the 65-year-old singer wrote. Read more…
